Roger Ailes, like so many of the right, is pointing fingers at the left, claiming the innocence of the right, all while polishing his halo. That’s how he makes the big bucks.
Mr. Ailes said that his network would try to cool the heated rhetoric.
“I told all of our guys, shut up, tone it down, make your argument intellectually,” Mr. Ailes said. “You don’t have to do it with bombast. I hope the other side does that.”
While the FOX Newsies spun faster and faster, weaving one-liners from the left and explanations of the innocent-sounding terms which were really coded calls for violent revolutions, they also wove in bitter complaints that their non-coded violent rhetoric was taken out of context.
Mr. Ailes, however, came up with proof:
“We looked at the Internet and the first thing we found in 2007, the Democrat Party had a targeted map with targets on it for the Palin district,” Mr. Ailes said.
The “Palin district”?? WTF? In 2007, Palin was Governor of Alaska. She wasn’t up for re-election. And she certainly wasn’t representing a district.
So, Mr. Ailes, tell us where the Palin district was in 2007. And please, show us the map. NYTimes.com doesn’t have a link.
