Healthcare provision seeks to allow Christian prayer treatments

The healthcare bill would include a provision encouraging insurance providers to consider allowing Christian Science treatments to be covered. In other words, a “pay for pray” coverage. This doesn’t surprise me, because TRICARE–the insurance program for military members, retirees, and their families–already has the “pay for pray” provision.

This is not only the government financially supporting not just a religion, but one particular sect of a specific religion. That means your tax dollars would pay for prayer treatment.

Worse, this is a “treatment” that frequently winds up in court–when kids die because their parents insisted prayer would heal them.
