Joe Wilson was irritated by the censure he received from fellow House members today, saying their rebuke is not helping Americans. He’s wrong about that; it’s time that someone stood up and said “order”.
In my view, by apologizing to the president, the most important person in the history of the world, that applied to everyone,” Wilson said.
Wow…”the most important person in the history of the world”? I support President Obama, but even I hadn’t taken it that far.
What do you think? Is this sarcasm on Joe-Willy’s part, or was he acting out to get the President to notice him? (Like a little boy pulling a little girl’s pigtails?)
The House resolution was the mildest form of discipline the chamber can exercise for misconduct on the House floor.
“Whereas the conduct of the Representative from South Carolina was a breach of decorum and degraded the proceedings of the joint session, to the discredit of the House: Now, therefore, be it resolved that the House of Representatives disapproves of the behavior of the Representative from South Carolina, Mr. Wilson, during the joint session of Congress held on Sept. 9, 2009″.
