The mass murder spree that began the first Saturday in April has included four separate killings, and it’s only Tuesday.
A man murdered 13 people at an immigration services center on Saturday (4 April 2009). He blocked the back exit with his vehicle, ensuring no one could escape, before he opened fire. The man then shot himself. The man sent a letter to a newspaper the day of the killings, claiming undercover police officers had been stalking him for years, tailing his car closely, and coming into his room at night and touching him.
A man killed three police officers on Saturday (4 April 2009). Two officers were responding to a 911 call from the man’s mother, who wanted their help removing her 22-year-old son from her home. The third victim was an officer who had just come off duty and stopped to assist the victims. He was wearing a bulletproof vest and opened fire with an AK-47, the NRA’s weapon of choice for “home defense”. The man was captured and charged with three counts of murder, aggravated assault, and other crimes.
A man murdered his five children on Sunday (5 April 2009) after his wife told him she was leaving him. After shooting each child multiple times, he went looking for his wife. When he didn’t find her, he turned the gun on himself. Police think he may have killed himself because he realized the enormity of his actions. Personally, I think he did it so his wife would have to live with the guilt for the rest of her life.
Four people were found dead in an Alabama home on Tuesday morning (7 April 2009). Police are looking for the suspect.
