Michelle Obama Most Favored First Lady

A New York Times/CBS News poll shows the public perception of the last five First Ladies immediately preceding their husband’s inaugurations.

Michelle Obama rates highest, with 46% of respondents having a favorable view of the new First Lady.

The only other Democrat on the list, Hilary Clinton, was viewed favorably by 38%.

Barbara Bush and Laura Bush received the highest marks for being unknown, with Laura (49%) edging out Barbara (47%) in the “Don’t know enough” category.

Only 5% of respondents checked that box for Nancy Reagan, who had the lowest “favorable” rating (28%) and tied Clinton for the highest “unfavorable” score (10%). 57% of people said they were “undecided”.

The most recent poll was completed last week.
