Israel Will Bomb Gaza to “The Bitter End”

Two days ago, Israel launched attacks on Gaza; so far, there are over 400 dead and 1,400 wounded. The Israeli government says this will be a “war to the bitter end.”

Merry Christmas.

My knowledge of Israel is too limited to offer a well-reasoned answer to why, and my distaste for the Israeli government too large to offer a balanced argument, but I don’t like it. The Israeli nation practices the same ethnocentrism they so vehemently denounce, and they have a history of throwing bombs at people throwing stones. And the United States gives too much to this land-grabbing, life-squandering nation of the chosen ones.

When it comes to the Chosen One, I prefer Harry Potter.

  1. The fact that Israel is gearing up for a ground war when they have lost four people speaks for itself. Palestine has lost nearly four times that amount in two days. Tell me, how is this self-defense?”

I thought I already answered that in my first post. Namely, a country has the right to defend itself from the constant barrage of rockets fired on its citizens. And these rockets are becoming more lethal due to their increasing range. People seem believe that all countries have the right to defend themselves from attacks, except for Israel. That won’t wash, I’m afraid.

“Self-defense is the amount of force needed to defend yourself: this is like killing someone who tried to punch you in the face.”

The Israeli citizens who died from Hamas’ and Jihad’s suicide bombings and from rockets fired into Israel are not mere punches in the face: they are the killing of Israeli civilians, which their gov’t is responsible to defend.

  2. For sheer violence among the number of followers, I would say that makes Judaism the world’s most violent religion.

That ignores the fact that it was the Arabs who waged all the wars on Israel since its formation in 1948 in order to annihilate it. Remember the days of Nasser, the PLO. Judaism has been quite peaceful, if not in fact frequently oppressed, throughout most of its history.

I don’t condone suicide bombings, and I don’t condone Hamas’ charter, but aren’t all soldiers willing to die for their cause? Were the kamikaze pilots in WWII suicide bombers, or does it take an Arab face to earn that title?

Glad you don’t support their terrorist activities. Sure, they are willing to die for their cause, but that’s not the issue. It is the difference between deliberately targeting civilians and targeting soldiers and leaders of the side you’re fighting. The kamikazis were targeting mainly our military ships and installations, not our innocent civilians in a restaurant. Major difference I think with the suicide bombers who strike at civilians.

As for your statement that “Muslims say nothing about the Muslims that kill and massacre other Muslims”: Are you serious? If Muslims didn’t care when other Muslims killed Muslims…well, they’d all be dead and there would never be–and never would have been–fighting between any Muslims. An impossible situation.

Well, if they cared, why don’t they protest against the suicide bombings of their people? When 100’s of Muslims get killed in suicide bombings in Iraq, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, etc, they don’t protest like they are now. They only exploit the deaths of Palestinians for propaganda purposes, since the deaths of 100’s of Iraqis by Muslims cannot be used for propaganda (or perhaps it’s because they support or are indifferent to the terrorists who committed them).

  3. Islam’s wars against the world and its expansionist ends I was speaking of:

Quotation from the farewell address of the Prophet Muhammad dated March 632AD; – “I was ordered to fight all men until they say `There is no God but Allah’ “. See “Islamic Imperialism – A History” by Ephraim Karsh. Also read Bernard Lewis’ works on Islam, e.g. The Crisis of Islam, to learn that Islam is indeed expansionist.

As a sampler, here are the problems that Islam is causing the world:

    – With Christians in the Balkans and Kosovo and Chechneya

    – Sudan with Darfur

    – Nigeria (including female circumcision)

    – In the Phillipines and Indonesia

    – With Hinduism in South Asia, in India (Mumbai)

    – With Buddahism in Bamyan and Afghanistan

    – In Afghanistan (with the Taliban)

    – In Pakistan with their terror bases

    – Causing problems with the China

    – In Europe (esp UK & France)

    – And with the U.S. and Israel

    – And even in their own Muslim countries, they’re dragging them back to the middle age and wanna keep them there.

    – And the self-repression cause by their very own Islamic rulers, who are virtually all tyrants.

    – Islam’s oppression of women, degrading them to being ‘half’ a man.

  4. Hamas is not Palestine. And I am not seeing the “Muslim expansionist ends” you are. To the contrary, it is only Israel that has expanded. This current war appears to be for the same reason. The Palestinians are dealing with problems similar, but worse, than Iraqis were before we invaded them; the blockades have caused starvation, sickness, and the poverty of Palestine is overwhelming. The fact that Israel is gearing up for a ground war when they have lost four people speaks for itself. Palestine has lost nearly four times that amount in two days. Tell me, how is this self-defense? Self-defense is the amount of force needed to defend yourself: this is like killing someone who tried to punch you in the face.

This is from McClatchy News Bureau

ALONG THE ISRAEL-GAZA STRIP BORDER — In a muddy field overlooking the smoke-blackened Gaza Strip skyline on Tuesday, young soldiers from an Israeli tank unit linked arms with euphoric civilians and joined them in the hora, a circular dance, in anticipation of a possible ground invasion of the Palestinian territory.

Islam is the second-largest religion in the world: there are approximately 1.5 billion Muslims. Judaism is the 12th largest, with approximately 14 million people. For sheer violence among the number of followers, I would say that makes Judaism the world’s most violent religion.

I don’t condone suicide bombings, and I don’t condone Hamas’ charter, but aren’t all soldiers willing to die for their cause? Were the kamikaze pilots in WWII suicide bombers, or does it take an Arab face to earn that title?

As for your statement that “Muslims say nothing about the Muslims that kill and massacre other Muslims”: Are you serious? 5. No nation can tolerate a neighbor that constantly barrages it with rockets with the goal set out in its charter of wiping it out. Hamas cannot complain that Israel responded to a war that Hamas itself has declared, most especially now when a truce has formally ended and Hamas did not venture to renew it. You ask for war, and you get it. You don’t have to be a genius to understand that.

Where were these Muslim demonstrators during Saddam’s and Sudan’s genocides and ethnic cleansing? During the Armenian holocaust? When their own tyrants massacred and oppressed their people? Where were they when 1000’s of Muslims are constantly being suicide bombed? Not a word, until Israel does something.

The pattern keeps on repeating itself. Muslims continue to make the wrong decisions: befriend the oppressive Ottomans, then befriend the nazis, then befriend the communists, then befriend the tyrants, the Nasserites, the Saddamites, and now befriend the medieval-minded terrorists. These people do not care about human life, or even the Palestinians, but merely exploit them toward Muslim expansionist ends. They say nothing about the Muslims that kill and massacre other Muslims, thru the many suicide bombings in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Morocco, but only raise a fuss when Israel strikes against a terrorist organization. That tells me that their demonstrations are disingenuine.
